Central Scare

Central Square will be changed into Central Scare on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. as a Third Thursday event. Central Scare is sponsored by the Central Square Collaboration, an assembly of local businesses, non-profit organizations, the Chamber of Commerce and city of Lynn.

Central Square attracted 1,000 people last year almost twice as many as the year before, and they are hoping to build on that success.

There will be a public address system playing Halloween music, and a bag of goodies for children. The first floor of the Columbia Insurance building, 31 Central Square, will be transformed into a haunted house suitable for elementary aged children. Students from North Shore Community College and RAW Arts are each building rooms to contribute to the spooky haunted house. The Lynn Daily Item, a sponsor of the event, will be handing out reusable trick or treat bags at the entrance of the haunted house.  read more »
