LCCC Parenting Class - Accepting Applications Now

 

Lynn Community Connections Coalition is now enrolling parents in their 15 week parenting program in English based on the Family Nurturing Parenting Program curriculum. Classes will be offered for parents of children of all ages. The deadline for all applications is August 12, 2011. This program is free of charge, with transportation provided for families.

Fast Facts:

  • Program runs for 15 weeks with an additional night for Open House. The meetings take place every Friday night from 6:30p - 8:30p.
  • Open House is scheduled for Friday, August 27, 2011.
  • The first session is scheduled for September 2, 2011.
  • The program runs from September through December.

Parenting Class in English Now Enrolling

Family & Children's Service is now registering parents for a 13 week parenting program in English based on the Incredible Years curriculum. Classes will be offered for parents of children age 0 to 12 months and 3 to 6 years. This program is free, but parents must register for a pre-program interview before beginning classes. FREE SEMINAR: Healthy Living and Energize your Life

All are invited to attend a free seminar by Mark Provost, a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist on healthy living. Join him on Sunday, April 26th at 12 PM at the St. Stephen's Memorial Church, located at on 74 S. Common Street. The seminar will teach you ways to eat healthier, have more energy, lose weight and avoid health problems. Mark is the founder and owner of Provost Personal Fitness in Wenham, MA. His motivating presentation is appropriate for all ages and anyone is welcome. Refreshments will be provided, as well as the opportunity to win some prizes! Acorn Gallery Portfolio Classes and Scholarships

The Acorn Gallery in Marblehead, located at 41 State Street, offers art classes for those trying to compose a portfolio. Interested parties between the ages 5 and up are welcome to attend the portfolio development classes Monday-Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Following the completion of the your portfolio,you may be eligable for a full or partial scholarship to institutions geared toward visual art. Upward Bound Student and Staff Openings

The Upward Bound Program at North Shore Community College is now accepting applications for new students. We serve first generation college-bound and modest income students. Current 8th and 9th graders attending Lynn schools are welcome to apply. For more eligibility information, please call the office at 781.477.2161.

Upward Bound also has part-time job openings for summer staff. Interested candidates must be 21 years of age or older, and have at least one year of college education.
