SCI's AmeriCorps Positions in Woburn, Dorchester, Milford and Fall River

SCI Lynn AmeriCorps Members: SCI's recruitment season is still underway. Although SCI Lynn's AmeriCorps positions are full we are still looking for members to serve in four of our five communities in Woburn, Dorchester, Fall River and Milford. We are seeking Youth Leadership Coordinators and Outreach and Technology Coordinators.

 Members will serve from September 2009 to June 2010, and receive a modest living allowance during their service and an educational award. These members will coordinate civic engagement initiatives in the areas of Engaging Youth, Building Bridges, Connecting Citizens, and Developing Leaders. Peace in the City, Youth Fest Follow Up

On Saturday, July 11th Lynn residents gathered at High Rock Park for Peace in the City, Youth Fest. All who attended enjoyed music, dance, skits, poetry, comedy, stories and murals. A youth dance group, In The Makin' performed and Walnut presented his poem "What Does Peace Mean." The weather was beautiful and all the festivities furnished an inviting community environment. This event was made possible by SCI's Citywide Youth Council 2009-2010 Mini-Grant Award sponsored by the Amelia Peabody Foundation.

Part of the Solution's Movie Night at Girls Inc. of Lynn

Calling all TEENS! If you are a teenager living in the Lynn area, Part of the Solution (POS) invites you to attend Movie Night on Monday July 27th at Girls Inc. of Lynn, located at 50 High Street, Lynn MA. 01901. Every Thursday The Food Project will host a Farmers Market in Lynn Central Square at the corner of Exchange Street and Union Street. Sandcastle Contest

Lynn Parks and Recreation presents the Sandcastle Contest. Come one, come all to build a beautiful sandcastle or enjoy the work of others. This new and exciting event will take place on Wednesday, July 15th 2009 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Halfway Point (Lynn/Nahant Beach).

Red Rock Park Summer Concert Tonight
