Lynn tech encourages Middle School students

MS students visiting Lynn Tech

Lynn Tech is offering Middle School children a chance to explore the grounds of the Vocational Technical Institute in order to help them make solid choices about where they may like to go for High School. The tour and visit are a part of a "revitalization" and positive stamping for vocational and/or technical education. Thought to be an alternative to "traditional" high school, vocational and/or technical schools like Lynn Vocational Technical Institute are giving students a chance to gain 1st hand knowledge of potential career paths.


Middle school students while on the tour learned about higher educational and professional opportunities that could be gained after graduating from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute. Callahan tunnel repairs and updates

Callahan tunnel rehab

Construction to the Callahan tunnel is underway and with the updates comes many questions from residents of Boston and the surrounding area. Times, incentives and what the final product will look like are among the many inquiries associated with this project as well as what future plans are being made to rehabilitate the Ted Williams bridge.

3rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

The Lynn Coalition for MLK, Jr. Day of Service will lead as many as 200 volunteers from Lynn and other North Shore areas in numerous in volunteer service projects to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy. Residents will joined by hundreds of thousands of volunteers across the country on this national day of service.

This will mark the 3rd year of the Lynn Coalition for MLK, Jr. Service Day, which has grown every year. The 2014 event is planned and organized by a committee made up of staff and volunteers of the Lynn Community Association, Girls Inc. of Lynn, Lynn Mass in Motion, LYSOA, Inc., The Food Project, RAW Art Works, Communities that Care, and Social Capital, Inc.

First time home buyers class

As more and more people look to ease the economic crunch by renting, homeownership dipped to all all time low (lowest in 17 years) in 2013. The Lynn Housing and Neighborhood Development agency is setting a positive course for Lynn community members to be a part of homeownership.  The  course is designed to take anyone interested  through the necessary steps they will need to accomplish in order to be homeowners. There is a monetary fee for the services and anyone interested can click here to learn more about this amazing opportunity and chance to own a little piece of Lynn.

Ingalls School Farmstand

Fresh produce and goods are only a few steps away at the Ingalls School Farmstand proudly serving the town of Lynn every Monday through the month of December. The stand is in operation at 1 Collins St Terrace and is easily accesibble from the Commuter Rail and/or the T and buses.
