The New Voices of Lynn, “Las Nuevas Voces de Lynn” is a group developed out of the need of young Latino women in the city to feel connected and create relationships with one another. For the past two years, they have learned about the resources and services available through the city, and have worked together to educate themselves about how to improve public safety and create better neighborhoods for their families and children. On Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 6 PM to 8 PM Las Nuevas Voces de Lynn will have its public announcement concert in the Lynn Housing Authority community room located at 10 Church St Lynn, MA. Please RSVP by March 31st, 2008 at 781-598-5517.
Las Nuevas Voces de Lynn has received support through local funding and volunteer in kind support provided by the North Shore Community Foundation, ¿Oiste?, a Latino civic organization, the Lynn Police, Lynn Housing Authority, The Miller Foundation and many others. The purpose of this initiative is to develop relationships and work together with the state and local government institutions to improve and foster safer neighborhoods for those living in Lynn, Massachusetts.
