A city wide youth choir is being created for a United Way concert on April 6th

Youth ages 11-18 are being asked to come raise their voices in song to

REPRESENT THE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY AS AMBASSADORS FOR CHANGE

The United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley is bringing the Lynn Community together for an evening of fun, music and inspiration to raise funds and awareness of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley 's work in Lynn for the community's children, youth and families.

The concert will be held on April 6, 2013, 7pm- 9pm at Bethlehem Pentecostal Church,  17 Light Street, Lynn, MA

"Groove School"

After School - Education through Music Program

Winter Term February 4th - April 5th

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2:30pm-5:30pm

Ages 6 - 17

Cost: $25 per day

This program includes:

Group instruction - Instrument of choice - Vocal Instruction - Ear Training - Unising Movement & Rhythm - Creative Expression & Music Mentoring. And don't forget about the end of term performance! 

Options of 2 or 3 days per week. Discounts are available for families with more than 2 children and/or additional days. Also Scholarships based on income eligibility may be available - Vouchers Accepted!

Adult evening and Saturday classes are available as well. Dance classes too!

 

Peace Camp

February 18th - 22nd

Monday through Friday 900am-3:00pm

Ages 6 - 14 years old

Cost: $150 per child

This program includes: 
Learning the Pledge of non-violence - Peacemaking defined: "Love your neighbor as yourself" - Getting along with others - Tools for dealing with conflict - Bullying is a big fat NOT - Creative Play - Taking care of the Neighborhood - Respecting our Environment - Celebrating our differences - Arts & Crafts - Performing Arts - Field Trips - Drum circles 

Most of all, having fun and making friends while learning important building blocks for creating and nurturing a culture of Peace and non-violence!

Come get your groove on with BBTM Sat night Sept 29th!

Join Building Bridges Through Music, Inc. (BBTM) as they launch their Coffee House series with a special event featuring a rocking evening with the Willie J Laws Band on September 29 at Tatiana’s Restaurant & Lounge in Lynn.

The Willie J Laws Band performs original, traditional and contemporary Blues, R&B, Funk, and Rock & Roll. Although the members in the Band have changed over the 24 years since it inception, Willie Jaye , a veteran performer, engages and involves the audience with easy charm and continues to expertly wield the lead guitar and be lead vocalist.

The rocking happens Saturday, September. 29 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Tatiana’s Restaurant & Lounge, located at 70 Market St in Lynn, MA. Tickets are $15 per person and include light fare.

This event is part of BBTM’s annual coffee house series supported in part by a grant from the Lynn Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

The proceeds benefit Groove School, a new youth after school program under the BBTM initiative, Educate, Engage, Empower; which offers educational enrichment and after school programs that allow the learning of music and development of confident performance skills.  This program, currently in its sixth year has provided a unique and creative outlet for children and youth of the North Shore communities.

Building Bridges Through Music's Youth Outreach Program presents Prom for Senior Citizens on Sunday, June 10th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Lynn Museum & Historical Society (590 Washington Street in Lynn).

Tickets for Seniors 75 & older are free. All others are $15/person.

Gospel & Jazz Brunch

Join Building Bridges Through Music, Inc. as they celebrate 12 years of unity through music at the 9th Annual Gospel/Jazz Brunch on March 10, 2012 at Angelica’s Restaurant, Rt 114 in Middleton. The brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and food is served throughout the program as you experience this one of a kind north shore event.

This years music line up is fabulous and features the soulful sounds of The Joan Watson-Jones – Jazz Ensemble, Follow Hymn Interfaith Choir, Voices for Change – Youth Outreach Ensemble, Nzuri Kusonga Roho – African Dance Ensemble, Purpose – DooWop Ensemble and other surprise guests.

Proceeds will fund their first educational scholarships and benefit their community youth outreach programs. Your support helps them to continue their mission of promoting cultural and racial harmony using music, movement and dramatic expression as educational tools.
